In response to the lack of healthcare services, the women of these traditional Zapotec communities wanted a way to participate in caring for their families and neighbors

The women of the communities specifically requested acupuncture training, as well as nutrition and movement classes

But, they wanted a holistic approach.

Traditional plant medicine, once thought of as backwards and antiquated, is now being recognized as a potent tool, both medicinally and culturally.



In this corner of the world, we find an element of health that modern alternative medicine often neglects: Community.


Women from neighboring communities are now coming together for workshops on traditional harvesting techniques, seed sharing, and medicine making
